16-19 Funding Statement
The 16-19 Tuition Fund 2023-2024 Academic Year
The 16 to 19 tuition fund is ring-fenced funding for schools, colleges and all other 16 to 19 institutions who receive annual funding allocations from ESFA for the provision of 16 to 19 education, to mitigate the disruption to learning arising from coronavirus (COVID-19).
The funding is to support small group tuition for students aged 16 to 19 in English, maths and other subjects that have been disrupted, including vocational and/or academic learning. Students aged 19 to 24 who have an education, health and care (EHC) plan are also eligible for support. All students must be on a 16 to 19 study programme and the funding should be used to support the tuition activity above and beyond the programmes of education already planned.
King David High School is eligible to receive £4,759 from this fund. As a school, we believe strongly that all students should be enabled to be happy and successful. We will be using this fund to provide additional support to identified students, with particular regard to prior attainment, deprivation, special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) and English as an additional language (EAL). The support will be provided in the form of small group sessions (maximum of seven students per group) in a range of subjects throughout the February half term. The support will be targeted based on the individual needs of the identified pupils.
