Chess at St Georges Hall
On Tuesday 5th July, a group of students from across all year groups represented King David High School in a national chess competition. The competition was held by Chess in Schools and the Community (CSC) and took place in St George’s Hall. The students were able to benefit from playing tips and strategies from some excellent chess players from across the country between their own games.
Split into two teams, the students faced some stiff competition as they played teams from other schools across Merseyside. At the end of the competition, one of our teams gained third place overall and were awarded medals for their efforts. All of the players did a fantastic job of representing the school and King David Chess Club is very proud of them. Well done!
Players were Umar Khan, Amir Mansouri and Younis Yehia (year 13), Zoe Bradshaw and Isaac Taxman (year 9) and Annie Ryan, Aleksandra Potapova, Rowan Jayathilake and Austin Busby (year 7)
